Gold and Silver cost too much to waste, and as a result, it is important to reduce buffing to a single step with little or no metal removal, if possible.

If the base metal is plate, use rouge only.

Always use BR (60/60 Cotton Cloth), KW (High Thread Count Cloth), or Flannel buffs, which are very soft. These buff types should be in a loose full disk construction, with one row of sewing around the arbor hole.
